Growing your own herbs is a cost effective and achievable way to spice up your home cooking. Below we have included six apartment friendly herbs that you can grow just about anywhere! All you need are some smalls pots, soil, and sunlight.
basil - place in south facing window, if leaves start to wilt then water until the soil is moist, prune off flowers immediately and cut back woody stems.
parsley - full to partial sun, place in draining pot and keep soil slightly moist.
thyme - partial sun, let soil dry before watering, trim flowers and woody stems immediately.
cilantro - place in window with plenty of sunlight in the morning and dappled sunlight in the afternoon. do not over water. use rich potting soil.
mint - place in south facing window, keep moist soil, prune off flowers immediately and cut back if it becomes overgrown.
green onions - place in south facing window, keep soil moist, cut down to white and let regrow.
Never harvest more than 1/3rd of your plant at a time!
